Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Birdie's Coffee Co. (“Birdie's,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information on this website. For questions, send a Privacy Request or contact us. See also our Terms of Use.

1. Information we collect

We collect what you submit on the website, plus a little technical data from browsing.

Information you give us

• Contact form: name, phone, optional email, topic, message, and whether you’d like us to follow up.
• Employment form: name, phone, optional email, a note about your experience and availability, and consent to be contacted about jobs.
• Rental form: name, email, phone, requested date and time, event type, estimated event size, additional details, and consent to be contacted about your inquiry.
• Gift cards: a Birdie's gift-card number and security code (PIN) to check a balance or reload an existing card; for reloads, we may also collect the amount, email, and optional name; for virtual gift-card purchases, we collect the amount, email, and optional name, and Clover returns the newly issued gift-card number and security code to us after payment.

Payment cards (credit or debit) are different from Birdie's gift cards. Payment-card information is handled by Clover and is not stored by Birdie's. When you pay for a gift-card purchase or reload, you enter payment-card information directly into Clover’s checkout system. Birdie's website does not receive or store customers’ full credit or debit card numbers.

Information collected automatically

• Pages you view, and roughly how you arrived
• Browser, device type, and approximate location from IP address
• Standard server logs that help the site run smoothly
• For gift-card balance checks: last four digits of the gift card, whether the check worked, IP address, and browser type

Contact, employment, and rental forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to reduce bots. Turnstile may process technical information needed to detect automated or abusive submissions. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.

2. How we use it

• Run and improve the website
• Reply to messages and privacy requests
• Follow up on employment interest
• Follow up on space rental inquiries
• Complete gift-card balance checks, purchases, reloads, and confirmation emails
• Understand website traffic with Google Analytics

We don’t add contact, employment, or rental submissions to a marketing list. If you check the consent box, we may contact you by phone or email about that inquiry, employment opportunities, or rental request.

3. Who we share it with

We don’t sell your personal information. We share website information with the companies that help us run the site:

• Clover (Fiserv) — gift-card and payment services, including hosted checkout. Clover’s Privacy Policy
• Google — analytics. Google’s Privacy Policy
• Cloudflare — bot protection on contact, employment, and rental forms
• Hosting and email providers — to keep the website online and send communications such as gift-card confirmations

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, legal process, or valid governmental requests, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Birdie's, our customers, or others.

Links to Google Maps, Facebook, or Clover’s own pages are covered by those sites’ privacy policies.

4. Cookies and Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages people visit. We record a page view when you first load the site and when you move between pages. Submitting the contact form may send a simple “form submitted” event. That event does not include your message.

We do not send form messages, names, email addresses, phone numbers, gift-card numbers, PINs, or other sensitive information to Google Analytics. Page views use the page path and do not include query-string values from the URL.

Analytics may include pages viewed, device and browser, approximate city or region, and a cookie that helps tell visits apart.

• Necessary cookies — help the site work (for example, security on forms).
• Analytics cookies — Google Analytics.
• Checkout cookies — if you continue to Clover to pay, Clover sets cookies on its page.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser. To opt out of Google Analytics, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

5. Gift cards

Payment-card information is handled by Clover and is not stored by Birdie's. Birdie's gift-card numbers work differently, depending on the action.

To check a balance or reload an existing card, you enter the gift-card number and security code on our site. We send those values to Clover to tokenize them and do not retain the full number or security code after the request is completed. For a balance check, we may keep the last four digits, whether the check worked, IP address, and browser type. For a reload, we may also keep a Clover-issued token stored in encrypted form, plus your email, optional name, amount, and transaction information.

To buy a virtual gift card, you do not enter a gift-card number. After Clover confirms payment, Clover creates the card and returns the new gift-card number and security code to Birdie's. We store those values in encrypted form in our database so we can show them on the confirmation page and include them in the confirmation email we send. We may also keep your email, optional name, amount, and transaction information.

6. Security

Birdie's uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed.

7. Your choices

You can skip optional fields, use browser cookie controls, or ask us to access, correct, or delete information from this website by sending a Privacy Request. Include the email or phone you used so we can find the right records.

We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to requests, consider employment inquiries, provide gift-card services, maintain appropriate business records, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations. Analytics data follows the settings in our Google Analytics account.

This website is not directed to children under 13, and Birdie's does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 submitted information, please contact us. We will review and delete the information where appropriate.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights under applicable law. Whether a particular law applies can depend on Birdie's size and activities. We will handle requests as required by applicable law. You can use the Privacy Request process above in any case.

We may update this Policy. The date at the top will change when we do.
